Little question before purchase.

Hello!

Congrats on such a jewel, great software.

I am wondering if buying it now or wait till I get a new PC (surely an AMD Ryzen 1700 or intel 8700k, coupled with a 1050ti 4gb or 1060. This could be in several months, maybe) . I have tested the trial a bit, it does seem to work fine (but haven't made intensive stress tests), but I am not sure if I am getting all what the software can provide, or not. IE, if the daubs are more fluid (I didn't see any bad sign, tho), or just different/better with a better machine (I see no lag, neither artifacts, tho). My machine is very old, from 2009, an i7 860 (4 cores, 8 threads, 2.8 GHz base clock, 3.46 GHz turbo), 8gb RAM (DDR3 1600 mhz ,I believe), 7200 rpm HDD, GTX 275 graphics card. I work as freelance illustrator, my canvases tend to be around 5000 x 5000 pixels, typically any side never being larger than 7.000 px long, rarely 10.000, and really never bigger than that (for huge things I convince people to go vectorial, somehow ;) ) . I mean, my delivered work tends to be in proper formats, like PDF/X (or TIFF, etc), CMYK profiles (very often none of this, just RGB files) usually at 300 DPI (150 -200 for events' large posters, t-shirts, etc). But This formatting, I can handle it in other applications if Paintstorm doesn't support this. For me is just fine if it allows under 10.000 pixels on any side. )

I am extremely interested in oils painting. Water color is handy, too, but in my case, mostly oils. Was for many years an oils painter, right now a digital one. Also of great interest is the "text tool" in the planned roadmap features, but I can keep switching between applications till it gets ready. :) (it is a relief though that is listed as a pending feature, as it is really important for gigs. )

A bit of help in your way, here: The Spanish translation of the site makes some strange word choices, like "Oportunidades" in the top menu, or in the actual page that it links to. This sounds a lot like "bargains" , more than "features" or "advantages" meanings which I believe it is more aiming to. I can help with word suggestions if needed. :) (not a big issue, tho, just some people in countries speaking this language may find it a bit strange, but no biggie, people will realize what's going on. )

Canvas size is not so important as a brush size do you use on it. For bristle brushes more than 300 you can find speed decreasing. For simple brushes(not bristle) it works fine with GPU on maximum size 1000px

The text tool is in plans but I think it could be realized not very soon, maybe to the end of 2018.

Only RGB 8 bit supported at the moment.

What about translation, please write to info@paintstormstudio.com more details, what words we should change to other :)
