Merging Layers with different opacities

Post by sircrone » Thu Oct 26, 2017 4:52 pm

If I try to merge layers that have different opacity, why does PSS force lower opacity layers up to 100% opacity causing issues with the painting?

for example top layer has a overlay layer of 50% bottom layer has painting at 100%. when i merge down, it forces the top layer to 100% and messes up the painting.

is there a setting for this?

should this be fixed in an update?

This might be a bug, a way I found to get it to work as expected was to select the 2 layers and then merge them

If the bottom layer filled with white - transparency pixels will be merged with white, but default 1st Paintstorm layer is transparent and pixels merged from the top layer changing its mode to normal, that's why you see it.

this one works for me

put the layers with different opacities within a folder
merg the folder.

the resulting layer should have the same apperance as the previous seperated layers stacked
