Select tool selects off to the side.

When I try to select anything on Paintstorm it doesn't select where it's wanted. I shouldn't have to move my pen way off from where I want to select to try and figure out where the tool will grab onto.
Another issue I'd like to address is the removal of the triangle on my cursor I can't seem to get rid of it. I don't what I need to press.

Someone please help me. I want to like the program I do but I've already bumped into two issues that are really bothersome. TT_TT

1)Maybe selection just hid. CHeck Menu-selection-auto hide selection
2)Be sure that selection "next action" is: none (top panel)
