Free Selection(Subtract) does not have polygonal mode.

Normal Free Selection can switch to polygonal mode when pressing alt.

Polygonal mode also works with add (Holding shift before drawing).

However, it does not work with subtract (Holding alt before drawing).

Make sure you only hold alt after the selection has started. If that doesn't work, maybe it's also a bug? It works for me on win10 except for subtracting selections.
