There is an issue with scaling a layer down very small. It produces errors (random colored pixels) or deletes the lower half of the layer:

... is used for moving the canvas. It can be changed, but It also resets the selected brush to the default one, which is very odd behavior. Each time you move the canvas you have to re-select the brush.

I e-mailed support, and they have answered, the issue was easier to resolve than expected. In case anyone else encounters the problem mentioned above, try the following:
Delete the folder C:\Users\YOURNAME\Documents\Paintstorm Studio and reinstall the program
That did the trick for me.

I have the very same problem (Windows 10 64Bit), its impossible to maximize the window. Running as administrator has no effect, can you describe what you did exactly?
