Using rulers is great, could we get a 2-axis ruler- like a horizontal and vertical ruler (or user-defined angle). This will help with architectural elevations. Currently I have to do horizontal lines first then rotate the ruler 90deg for the vertical lines.

You can set rulers to wished states and then use "Fast selection of ruler states" hotkey (search it in in Guides section of "define hotkeys") to switch between all your states.
