Separate hotkey for pick visible color and pick current layer would be nice.
Just info why I think it is helpful.
Lets say you paint something on new layer with 50% opacity. Picking visible color will blend current color with 50% of what is beneath -as e result your color with become 'dirty'. Ability to quickly switch to pick 'only current layer' color prevents this from happening.
It is also helpful when you color your stuff with new layer in eg. 'color blend mode'. Then you want to pick color that is on current 'color layer', not the visible color.
