Layer Selection Tool

Hi, I am desperately looking for a way to select a layer by just clicking on the artwork.
Is it already implemented, or am I just overlooking something?? It's a must have feature I think.

Find "Fast layer selection" in the hotkeys panel ... default combination is "Space+a"
