Clear Selection dos not work...on iPad version

I go to Select All. then I go back into the Selection menu and come down to "Clear" and nothing happens. So I now have to actually delete the layer to do that. Am I doing something wrong?

Clear - means remove selection. To delete selected area press DEL key, to Fill it press alt+backspace, also you can use CTRL+X to cut selected area

Thanks. I figured that out last night. Maybe the words "Deseslect" would be better than "Clear." Or maybe I am just not so smart. In other programs the word "Clear" meant it would clear anything in the selected area.
