Straight lines on iPad

On Windows at least, holding down the shift key and then moving from point to point draws a straight line. I added a button for shift on iPad but holding it and then trying to make a line from point to point doesn't seem to work. Am I doing something wrong or doesn't it work on the iPad?

There is a hotkey that does straight lines like the shift function in photoshop

You can enable SHIFT, ALT, CTRL hot buttons in menu-file-define hot buttons... Shift gives desired effect
