Paintstorm will only save in .pss format

Paintstorm is not allowing me to save my work in any format but the .pss native file format. It will not save in .psd, .jpg, .png or .bmp when I try to use the "save as" function. I am running the latest version of Paintstorm (2.40.1-180619) under Windows 10. I've never had a problem like this in previous versions of Paintstorm.

What do you mean by "it will not save" - you choosing PSD from the list, click "save" and what happens?
