OpenGL problem on Mac

Post by rrische » Wed Feb 05, 2020 3:48 am

Hello,
I've been having some performance issues and I think they revolve around OpenGL.

In Paintstorm, it shows that I'm running OpenGL 2.1

But my system and video card show I'm running OpenGL 4.1

Any idea why Paintstorm isn't recognizing the correct OpenGL version on my system?

Paintstorm Studio 2.43
Mac Pro (mid 2012)
2 x 3.46 GHz 6-core Intel Xeon processors
112 GB RAM
Graphics card NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti 11264 MB
Mac OSX 10.12.6

All is easy - MAC OS doesn't support Opengl higher than 2.1 :) Apple force they "metal: technology. But don't worry, 2.1 GPU is the same speed as 4.3, only one GPU restriction for MAC - you can't enable GPU for bristle brushes (so bristle brushes with gpu works by a different way, and we suggest don't enable gpu for it by default)
