Version 1.40 use Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 Redistributable Package

The program can't start because api-ms-win-crt-runtime-l1-1-0.dll is missing from your computer.
The problem is that the KB2999226 (Universal CRT) which is part of the Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015 failed to install.
Solution
Install Windows Updates:
Go to Start - Control Panel - Windows Update
Check for updates
Install all available updates.
After the updates are installed, restart your computer.
After the restart repeat the steps above again until no more updates are available.

Download the Visual C++ Redistributable:

For Windows 64-bit

For Windows 32-bit

Run the vcredist_x64.exe (64-bit) or vcredist_x86.exe (32-bit) and select Uninstall
Run the .exe again and select Install

i am still getting the "api-ms-win=crt runtime |1-1-0.dll" is missing from your computer

and the dl on this page say this update is no applicable to my computer...

and i have tried many reinstalls

this problem is several weeks old now since purchase as i thought there might be a upgrade on its way....

any suggestions...

maybe update to windows 7 sp3 (last service pack as I know)

i cant find a service pack 3 for windows 7.... there is service pack 3 for windows office...

Maybe you can try to download api-ms-win-crt-runtime-l1-1-0.dll separately. For example from here. There are many different versions of this file on this page. Of course the best solution is to update the Visual C++. But if this doesn't work maybe manually downloading will help

i actually got the fix ( same file link ) from a game problem on a steam game site forum
and thought i would just pop back in here to post the fix...

so all is good...


You might just want to do a new post and keep these files as a sticky
to save the run around for future users...

the actual problem was multiple - msu errors - when i looked at the log file
