Can't Draw Curved Lines

I am using Paintstorm on Mac (macOS Mojave) and whenever I try to draw a curved line, it comes out with corners instead of a smooth curve. I'm very frustrated and I don't know if I can get my money back if this turns out to be something unfixable. I've tried messing with a variety of settings, including the stabilizer to no avail.
