Free Selection(Subtract) does not have polygonal mode

Free Selection(Subtract) does not have polygonal mode.
Normal
Free Selection can switch to polygonal mode when pressing alt.
Polygonal mode also works with
add (Holding shift before drawing).
However, it does not work with
subtract (Holding alt before drawing).

alt does not change to polygon mode for me ( holding it after starting a polygon selection allows to continue with free selection, but i cannot switch from free selection to polygon with alt

Make sure you only hold alt
after the selection has started. If that doesn't work, maybe it's also a bug? It works for me on win10 except for subtracting selections.
