Cavalier
Hello all
I'm new to Paintstorm Studio, I recently discovered there was a mac version and snapped it up, what a great bit of software!
This is my first mess about with some premade brushes. I particularly liked the ink splatter effect of Mask 9 and it in fact ended up driving a pen and wash style, something I'd now like to develop more.
I always like to test large scale canvases in new software, so the original of dimensions of this 8000px by 7000px. I'd be interested to know if there is a limit on canvas size?
Did I say I love this software?
Thanks

Re: Cavalier
I like how you are drew grass in this picture... What about size - Paintstorm default limit is 7000x7000px but if you create larger canvas in other software - paintstom can open it until it placed in your video memory
Re: Cavalier
Thanks. Ah good. I wasn't sure whether that was a limit or a glitch, so as an experiment I increased it to 8k wide in Photoshop and the rest you now explained.
Re: Cavalier
That's odd,I had a large canvas size issue with paint storm.I think I did something like 3000x6000 recently and it did not open with PSS.I mean it did open it,but it did not load the layers. It basically recognized it as empty document.
As for the image,I really like the background.Verry minimalistic and appropriate for the guy with the horse to read clearly.

Re: Cavalier
Thanks Okuma_10. I hope the glitch got sorted out without loss of data? Perhaps as mentioned memory may have played a role?
Thanks for the image comments. Yes it started out as a none specific series of brush marks, just looking for brushes I could add to a favourites custom panel. Adding the grass and hints of vegetation was a very last minute choice simply to ground the characters, but I didn't really make any meaningful decisions beyond making it all something more than plain white.
Cheers

Re: Cavalier
If document is too large for memory - paintstorm will crushes. But empty document - it's can be consequence of 1 locked Photoshop player. PSD must have 2 or more layers or 1st layer must be unlocked.okuma_10 wrote:basically recognized it as empty document.
What is your Graphic card configuration?
Re: Cavalier
@boxy thanks for the compassion. But I did not lost anything.Opening the document again in PS had no issues and all my layers were there.
@support my video card is Nvidia GeForce GTX 750
