Pasting in images/photoshop layer with transparency

When pasting in a selection from a layer in photoshop with transparent components, the transparent portions appear as white

unsure if this is issue on photoshop's end,

if transparency was properly copied over properly it would make working together with different software easier

As I know - there is no way to copy transparent pixels from other software, for example if you are copy PNG image from chrome or firefox - it pasted with white but not with transparent pixels. But inside of the program - all OK.
