Unable to use the "Search" function...need help!

Every time I use "Search" I get an error message. For example I put in the word "opacity" and I get this;

The following words in your search query were ignored because they are too common words: opacity.
You must specify at least one word to search for. Each word must consist of at least 3 characters and must not contain more than 14 characters excluding wildcards.

No matter what I type into the block this same message appears.

What am i doing wrong?
