Bad dark-light gradient

Post by Dmitriy Bedrik » Sun May 19, 2019 10:43 am

Hey.

I use the depth of field tool. When I use it in almost all colors, EXCEPT for black and dark gray, everything is perfect. This is really very cool.

However, when I use this (and any other tools associated with drawing or offsetting at all) with black and dark gray colors to create a smooth gradient (on a curved surface), I see that I get ugly steps.

I may not understand something, but I see this problem in all the programs I use, whether it be a krita, a gimp, or your program. In Photoshop and others from Adobe, I don't know if this is a problem.

Please tell me how I can solve this.

Yes, knowing issue.
In Photoshop they use some "noize blur" in steps gradation. In Paintstorm gradient steps sharp and it's visible in a range of RGB 255 steps
