Custom palettes don't keep brushes

Post by b33nine » Fri Jan 22, 2016 7:41 pm

Can anyone help me figure out why I can't get the same brushes to load when I restart the program? Typically I put my favorite brushes into one of the custom palettes, but when I restart the program it's the custom palette is populated with different brushes than the ones I put in there.

Any ideas?

Maybe some glitch of Paintstorm files in folders. You can try to delete it and reinstall.
The default folders is:
C:\Program Files\Paintstorm Studio
C:\Users\YOURNAME\Documents\Paintstorm Studio

Also you can try to restore all settings (menu-other-reset to default) You can previously save all of your UI and brushes etc.

I also get this problem, I saved an UI preset and if I load it, it fixes the problem with the brushes, though sometimes it loads different brushes so it's kind of hit and miss thing.

I had this issue when I updated Paintstorm frpm 1.41 to 1.50. I didn't do a fresh install but just installed over the previous version.
I presumed that my issues were due to the changes to the brush engine; from the changelog
Now you can Import / Export your brushes and brushes groups as well as create new categories of brushes. In this regard, we have made a completely new data structure. That is why the brushes import from older versions Paintstorm (1.41 and below) is impossible. We apologize for this inconvenience. The new version of Paintstorm Studio is created to avoid such things in the future, because now you can save your favorite brushes in a separate file, as well as share your brushes collection with your friends.
I uninstalled Paintstorm > deleted the folder C:\Users\YOURNAME\Documents\Paintstorm Studio > reinstalled V1.50 and so far I have had no issues with the custom palettes losing the brushes.

hope this helps.
