This is probably a bug with SAI2 beta, as I can't reproduce the same issue saving with SAI 1. If I save a PSD file with SAI2 and try to open it with Paintstorm then the folder structure is really messed up. The names of the folders are all named "Group 1" or "Group 2" etc. A the very bottom of the layer stack is a layer named "</Layer group>". Each of these folders is empty and all the layers that were in each folder are all dumped outside. Kind of like this...
normal:
[folder 1]
__sky
__grass
__trees
[folder 2]
__river
__city
__street
after opening with Paintstorm:
[Group 1]
sky
grass
trees
[<Layer group>]
[Group 2]
river
city
street
[<Layer group>]
Just did some testing. Apparently, for every folder it dumps the contents outside and puts a [<Layer group>] at the bottom right under the contents. If there's a another layer under it then the pattern is the same. I found that opening the file in Photoshop and saving it, then opening it in Paintstorm will rescue the folders and let it be opened correctly. Also, creating a new PSD or opening and saving a PSD in SAI 1 opens correctly in Paintstorm.
So, I think maybe the reading of PSD files could be tweaked to be a lil less buggy because Photoshop and SAI 1 are able to read the PSD file saved in SAI 2 correctly with layers in tact.
Paintstorm fails to read folders in PSD files saved in SAI2 beta

OK, we will test it
