weird eraser selection behavior

When I switch between brush and eraser using the E and B keys, the eraser doesn't seem to return to the last used eraser brush but to some eraser called Classic Transparency. The brush tool returns just fine.

I'm probably just blind, but how do i make the eraser tool return to the previously used eraser brush?

Be sure that "last eraser" is in the 2nd brush category (erasers category)

I don't understand. It doesn't seem to matter what category the brushes are in, and besides I've deleted all the default brushes and categories. Just now I was painting happily and the eraser was working fine. Then I went looking for another brush, and after some haphazard switching around, the eraser is stuck on some other brush.

This is extremely confusing and frustrating.

Maybe there's some weird doubleclick/shift/alt/ctrl/rightclick combo I don't know about that locks or switches the default eraser?

Bump. This problem still persists. The eraser still won't remember which eraser I picked last and stubbornly picks Simple Extend or Classic Transparency for whatever reason.

I have since reset settings to defaults, reinstalled the software multiple times - nothing helped.

Also, no reply for a whole year? That's unexpectedly bad support even for a small company.

Are you sure that you are using eraser hotkey but not a "eraser toggle"?
show the screen (or better video) how your brushes organized)
