I didn't realize how it helpful until tried SAI2.

Didn't quite understand the question. Do you mean "how it works"? This feature is integrated in SAI, when you use layers with various blending modes you can fast navigate to necessary layer without examine each layer. Example - one layer is flat colors in normal, second layer is shadow with multiply, than layer with shine effects, than again normal layer with another object of forms, and again shadow layer to that object, than layer with foreground objects, and so on and so on...
