Starts with white canvas, cant make it start with grey.

Ive saved a document with 50 percent grey and made it my default startup document. Whenever I first start the program, its always eye-bleeding white.

Is there no way to make it start with grey? Even having it start with NO document at all would be a plus. Nothing worse than starting it and getting hit in the eye with white.

I don't know, but I would be happy to have this possibility too. I already check the default button for a 50% gray document, but it doesn't work.
Currently, I open an already existing empty 50% gray psd with PSS instead of open the software directly. Then I create a new document with 50% gray… Well…
