i want to update PSS for the first time and i'm a bit worried
my main worries are keyboard shortcuts, brushes and palettes. if they disappear i'l shoot myself in the eye with chili powder
1 - is there a risk of losing stuff after update?
2 - what's the best way to backup the stuff i mentioned above?
3 - is there anything else i should backup/fix/change/be careful with?

On windows all your settings are stored in the My Documents folder under the Paintstorm Studio subfolder.
Users-->YourUserName-->My Documents-->Paintstorm Studio
Copy this folder somewhere else and then do your upgrade. If things disappear open the copied folder and copy over the settings you need. If you have a problem with Paintstorm Studio deleting this folder will reset all the settings as it gets auto-generated the next time the application is opened.
