[Suggestion] Duplicate multiple layers across opened files
Post
by kingzeroth » Thu Jan 16, 2020 6:07 pm
Sometimes when working with a series of art/design pieces, some layers such as fonts and backgrounds can be used multiple times across multiple files. Afaik,
Paintstorm currently does not support moving multiple layers at once across opened files so the only way to do it would be to manually cut and paste each layer across which would be very tedious very fast if it involves many layers.
A
right click option on layers to duplicate multiple layers across files would be great.
Thank you.

I can't find an option to duplicate a group to
another opened file. It only duplicates within the same file.

What I'd like to have is to be able to duplicate across files not in the same file. Added a gif to the original post to show what I meant.

Drag selected layers or folder to the 2nd document title, wait until it will open and drag the cursor down - to the canvas; release mouse button
(this layers transfer works same as in photoshop) not so fast but you can transfer "nine thousand" of the layers at one time

I can't get it to work the way you described.

1. Select the layers you want to copy
2. Activate the Move tool
3. Click INTO your canvas you want to copy from and HOLD the left click (or pen)
4. Drag your cursor over the tab of the file you want to copy to
5. Wait until the view switches to the other file
6. Then drag your cursor over the canvas
7. Release the mouse button
That should work.

Thanks, that works but it's kind of counter-intuitive. If you're going to select from the layers panel then might as well drag it from there instead of going back to the canvas to drag it.
